Deep Cleaning vs Standard Cleaning: Which Does Your Georgia Home Need?
By ScrubMAX Team · August 16, 2026 · 6 min read
A side-by-side breakdown of what each service covers, when a deep clean is worth it, and how Georgia humidity and pollen change the answer.
The short version
A standard clean maintains a home that is already in good shape. A deep clean removes build-up that a maintenance visit never reaches. Most Georgia homes need one deep clean to reset, then a lighter recurring plan to stay there.
What a standard clean covers
- Kitchen counters, sink, appliance exteriors, cooktop
- Bathrooms: toilets, tubs, showers, vanities, mirrors
- Dusting reachable surfaces, sills and furniture tops
- Vacuum and mop all floors
- Trash out, beds made on request
What a deep clean adds
- Shower glass and tile treated for hard water and soap scum
- Baseboards, door frames, switch plates and trim wiped by hand
- Ceiling fans, light fixtures and vent covers
- Inside and outside of cabinet fronts
- Behind and beside appliances where reachable
- Window sills, tracks and interior glass
- Detail dusting of blinds and ledges
Why humidity and pollen matter here
Two local realities change the calculation in Coweta, Fayette and Spalding counties. First, humidity: bathrooms hold moisture longer, so soap scum and mildew set into grout and glass faster than they would in a dry climate. Second, pollen season, which drives a fine yellow film onto sills, blinds, fans and hard floors for weeks. Both are build-up problems, which is exactly what a deep clean targets and a quick surface wipe does not.
How to tell which one you need
Choose a deep clean if any of these are true:
- It has been more than three months since a professional visit
- Shower glass is cloudy or grout is discolored
- You can write your name in the dust on a fan blade or vent
- You are hosting, listing, or just moved in
- Allergies flare indoors during spring or fall
Choose a standard clean if a professional has been in the home within the last month or two and nothing above applies.
The most cost-effective path
Book one deep clean to reset the home, then move to biweekly house cleaning. Biweekly homes cost less per visit than monthly ones because there is simply less to undo: you are paying for maintenance instead of recovery. If you are moving instead of maintaining, move-in / move-out cleaning is the right scope.
